Arysta LifeScience has been named to Carolina Parenting Inc.’s annual list of North Carolina Family-Friendly 50 Companies for two years running, 2008 and 2009. The recognition is awarded to companies that help working parents by offering family-friendly programs, policies and opportunities. Arysta LifeScience was the only agricultural company selected for the honor.

Our cross-functional employee Wellness Council leads the way in promoting activities that encourage employees and their family members to make healthy choices. Arysta LifeScience North America commits to providing healthy options such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables at all company meals and functions. Through monthly health topics and periodic challenges, our employees continue to improve and foster a healthy work environment.

Each year the employees and families of Arysta LifeScience host a "Take Your Daughter & Son to Work" day of fun and discovery. Children participate in employee-led activities and are given insight into Arysta LifeScience and the challenges their parents face in attaining a healthy work and life balance. Children are also given the opportunity to discuss what happiness and personal fulfillment mean to the them. An element of fun is provided with hands-on activities such as seed science and art projects that fully engage the children and add an educational aspect to the event.
A national no-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and enhance green space for today and future generations. In support of Project Evergreen and the United Way, Arysta LifeScience employees, spouses and friends volunteered their time in 2010 to enhance the outdoor living space at The Haven House treatment facility fo vulenerable kids in Raliegh, N.C. In addition to improving the outdoor area around The Haven House, the Arysta LifeScience volunteers prepared an outdoor sitting area that will provide an open, safe place for Haven House clients and employees.
Our employees have demonstrated community support in a big way year after year through our United Way Campaign. In 2010 over 75% of the Cary-based employees contributed towards Arysta LifeScience making an donation of over $25,000.
Additionally, we indentified a United Way Partner Agency, the Wake County Boys and Girls Club, to whom we made donations of art and craft supplies, sporting goods and recreation equipment. The organization serves thousands of boys and girls in our community.
In 2009, Arysta LifeScience was awarded the prestigious "Best First Time Campaign" designation by the United Way of the Greater Triangle for fundraising efforts for the United Way. In 2010, Arysta LifeScience was recognized with the Campaign Leader Award from the Greater Triangle United Way for going above and beyond to raise funds for this worthy cause.
For over ten years, Arysta LifeScience has sponsored five national FFA scholarships to reward and encourage excellence, and to enable students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarship recipients are selected from thousands of applicants from across North America. Selections are based on the applicant's academic record, FFA and other school and community activities as well as participation in a supervised agricultural experience program in agricultural education and the student's future goals.
Through this program, the employees of Arysta LifeScience have enabled more than 40 children annually, over 5 years, to experience the delight of receiving Christmas gifts. At Christmas time, the Arysta LifeScience Angel Tree, in the Cary office displays the names of the recipient children.
